Brazoria County Historical Museum

The Brazoria County Historical Museum exists to discover, preserve, and make known the history of Brazoria County. Located in Brazoria County’s historic 1897 courthouse, the Museum collects, preserves and exhibits artifacts that reflect the County’s cultural and demographic diversity.
 


Stephen F. Austin Statue
Located just south of Hwy 35 on Hwy 288

The 60-foot-tall statue of Texas forefather Stephen F. Austin, was built in 2006 by Texas artist David Adickes -- who had earlier built a colossal Sam Houston statue outside of Huntsville. Stephen is slightly shorter than Sam, as they were in real life

The black granite memorial features the names of more than 180 Brazoria County service members who were killed in action dating back to World War I. It also showcases laser-etched military pictorials and bronze statues of a Gold Star Mother and Medal of Honor recipient, Clarence Sasser.

Lighted basketball pavilion, five youth softball fields (four are lighted), disc golf course, sand volleyball court, several picnic tables, three grills, a 3/4 mile paved loop for biking & jogging and a 1/2 mile lighted walking path, playground areas and four pavilions. Officer Cash Memorial Dog Park

Lighted park, obstacle course of balance beams, tubes, agility ladders, jumping bars, a seesaw, a jump through, wiggle poles, a tunnel, a slide and much more. There is also a large open area for frisbee throwing, two pet wash stations and drinking fountains. Pet waste bags are located at the entrance of both the large and small dog areas.
